Emotional Freedom Techniques – EFT – Tapping

EFT helps you release stress, anxiety, and overwhelm by tapping specific acupressure points, which works a bit like emotional self-care and facilitates relaxation. You can think of it like emotional hygiene, clearing out the old clutter that doesn’t serve you, which then allows you to rewire your brain, feel good in your own skin, and gets you to inner peace and clarity.

Clinical EFT helps:

  • Reduce stress levels
  • Improve sleep
  • Lower cortisol (a stress hormone)
  • Reduce anxiety
  • Relieve pain
  • Increase productivity
  • Regulates the nervous system
  • Regulates immune system

Why is it called “Clinical” EFT?

Because these techniques are proven by research. Studies have shown that Clinical EFT doesn’t “just make you feel better.” The changes you feel are reflected in lowered cortisol levels, changes in DNA expression, and brain activity.

What is this “Tapping” in Clinical EFT?

At it’s most basic, tapping is using your fingertips on specific meridian points. While it sounds nearly too simple, this gives your brain a signal that you are safe. This way we can calm the fight / flight / freeze response, getting you into rest / digest / heal mode.

What are the specific meridian points used?

  • Top of your head
  • Eyebrow point (innermost part of eyebrows)
  • Side of eye (outer corner of eyes)
  • Under the eye (bony part right under eyes)
  • Under the nose
  • Under the lips (chin)
  • Collarbone point
  • Under the arms (where your bra strap would be)

Why Clinical EFT

Why Clinical EFT

“For someone who does not like delving into my emotions, Dr. K’s friendly and calm demeanor led me to trust her and commit to EFT as a path to improving my quality of life. She has a remarkable talent to feel where the conversation needs to flow and guides the process with ease. In our sessions she has helped me realize deeply held beliefs about myself that didn’t serve me, connections I had made through experiences that I had not understood in that way before. I am grateful for Dr. K’s energy and capacity to listen without judgement in our sessions.”

“With her knowledge, tools and inner guidance, Dr. K helped me to feel much better about myself by working on my feelings of not being good enough and setting my boundaries. She did so by guiding me to identify and literally tap into events, memories, beliefs, emotions and feelings that manifested into unhelpful patterns that held me back from how I wanted to show up in the world. Right after the first session I felt more resourceful to respond to situations that would have triggered me before working with her.¬†If you would like any (I literally mean ANY) area of your life to be different, but do not know how to make changes or if change is possible at all, I certainly recommend working with Dr. K. She has the tools to guide you towards where you want to go.”

“It’s easy to dive deep with Dr. K. Her calm and confident presence is a safe and nurturing vessel, where I am safe to open up emotionally. Dr. K has led me to deeper truths within myself and made it so much easier to release limiting blocks. I’m so grateful for the difference she’s made in my life.”

I have always been impressed by Dr. K's willingness to listen deeply and ask appropriate follow up questions concerning not only my physical manifestations, but where I am emotionally, mentally and spiritually. I appreciate Dr. K's desire to get at the underlying or accompanying causes for physical pain.
What I really appreciate about Dr. K is her sincere compassion and heart of connection. Being in her presence always invites relaxation and being present, which helps greatly in getting the most out of the sessions.
In leading me through EFT sessions, her willingness to hold space with me and get me to that place I need to be is an amazing gift of healing. I cannot recommend her highly enough for her giving, engaging spirit.

Laura L., MD, Colorado

I have had the pleasure of doing several EFT sessions with Dr. K on pretty intense childhood trauma and current feelings of overwhelm. She is a delight to work with. She's very attentive, good natured, easy going, light hearted and unflappable.
What really sets her apart from other healers is her incredible insight and ability to ask questions that lead you to your own answers. She's helped me to see the role I'm playing in my own suffering: not believing in myself, saying I don't need a lot and basically setting myself up to not receive much, and staying small, so I don't have to take on anything more and I'm not a target for criticism. Then we dive deeper to find events/trauma that led to these patterns, and we release the stuck energy around them with EFT.
As a result of working with her, I'm making more conscious choices about how I show up, my self-talk and focusing on the positive instead of what's wrong with me and life. I feel much more optimistic, and my self esteem has improved greatly. I highly recommend working with her!
