Last time around, when we talked about AI, I was very happy to see that many agree on AI being a problem.
That does come along with being a stress for people.
For me, knowing they’re building more data centers, causing more pollution, wasting more water, that stresses me.
Knowing AI will continue negatively affecting people’s minds (to put it mildly), that stresses me.
The question then is: what can we do to be aware, to take action when we can, AND to not wreck our health over it with stress.
Keep in mind, stress wreaks havoc on any and every body system we have.
Stress raises inflammation, and when it’s chronic stress = increased cortisol = chronic inflammation -> perfect set up for every illness and symptom there is.
For me, that starts with knowing at least some bits and pieces of what’s going on, and I trust the Children’s Health Defense for that.
Even when you have a source you trust, I will not read or consume any stressful information after 6pm.
Even when I was reading “The Real Anthony Fauci” by Kennedy Jr, I would not read that book past 6pm.
Why 6pm? Because that gives me plenty of time to focus on things that I like and make me happy, so that I’m not stressing when I go to bed later.
Because that’s the next part: you have to get your sleep!
I think the clearest example are little kids…
… if they had a bad night or missed a nap, what’s their mood like?
It’s not really different with adults, so imagine you’re low on sleep and then are exposed to heavy, stressful topics – our mental resiliency is lower with poor sleep.
You will have a much more difficult time dealing with it, meaning that stuff can stress you out easier (and inflammation sets in).
On the same line of thinking as with sleep, that’s also why you want to make sure to eat healthfully etc…
After all, we all know things like sugar, soda, processed junk, will also increase inflammation, aside from all the other health issues they cause.
But what can you do about that stress in the moment and big picture?
Yup, we’re back to EFT.
Keep in mind, with EFT, we’re lowering our cortisol levels and getting to rewire our brain, and breaking old patterns that don’t serve us anymore.
Especially with tough topics and stress, EFT shines because with EFT you:
• don’t need to sugarcoat things
• can say all the negative things you’re trying to suppress
• can rant
• can just feel whatever you’re feeling, that’s it
• don’t need to put on a brave face or pretend all is good or try to smile your way through it
• don’t need to come into it with all the answers at the ready
I have a general rule of: you can rant as you need, but you better be tapping while you do so.
EFT is so different because it works with both your brain and your body, and it needs to be that combination to release old emotions, old patterns, and with that be you again.
The great thing is, you can easily tap as you inform yourself about those stressful topics, making it easier on you and your health.
I want to touch on that last bullet point – you don’t need to come into it with all the answers at the ready.
Some people feel hesitant tapping, feeling silly if they do and not knowing what to do… well, just start tapping and see where your brain takes you.
Because even as I’m talking about breaking old patterns, you may not know what your patterns are – so part of the process can be finding what that even is and what would serve you better.
I have a lot of patients tell me that they weren’t sure what to talk about and got nervous before an appointment.
But you don’t need to have a plan, you don’t need to have the answer, you just come in, start tapping and talking, and what you need to work on will show itself.
No stress necessary, and it’s always incredible what the brain will present you with when you give it a chance.
