A few months ago I had found out that one of the period underwear brands I had been using contains PFAS.
(That’s why there is a settlement now, bear with me).
Now, we talk about toxins a lot here considering how badly they affect our health.
And because toxins tend to be root cause for a lot of health issues.
So you can imagine my reaction when I found out.
Toxic underwear is a huge issue, because as women we have highly absorbable mucous membranes down there that will absorb those toxins quickly.
And considering the amount of women who already deal with a lot of menstrual issues…
None of us need further toxins such as PFAS added into it.
And I’m always talking about removing the source of toxicity as best as we can.
But how can we when companies sneak toxins into products they promise are fine?
So a few days ago I found out that there is now a settlement with this company.
The company I’m talking about is Thinx.
This isn’t just some random activewear company where sadly we just have to expect toxins.
This settlement isn’t perfect…
- you only get $7 per underwear… for up to 3 pairs??!?!
- Thinx will not be allowed to “knowingly” put PFAS into their product anymore
But this is still important.
The more companies that have to face responsibility, the more likely we will eventually get to a place of getting toxin free products.
