It’s one of those moments…
I’ve been grappling with this and you need to know about it as well.
A while ago I wrote about some of the supplement companies that were bought by Nestle.
But there are more supplement companies you need to know about.
You see, there are 14 mega-corporations that are buying more and more supplement companies.
Some corporations will even own competing supplement companies.
You’ll be familiar with some of these.
These mega-corporations include: Bayer, WhiteWave, kikkoman, HGGC, Pfizer, Clorox, P&G, Nestle, Rekitt Benckiser, Alticor, KKR, Olsuka, SPC, Schwabe.
What’s the problem with them owning supplement companies we trusted?
It varies between – ethical, moral, and quality.
Additionally, it is never a good idea to let products that are meant for health be run by big pharma companies, especially when it’s heading into only a few owning most.
Now, some of these brands I never did recommend, but some of them I used to.
What are the supplement brands that belong to these mega-corporations now:
- Country Life
- Vega
- One a Day
- Nature’s Way
- Integrative Therapeutics
- Theraveda
- KAL
- PaleoPlanet
- Nutraceutical
- Solaray
- Centrum
- Emergen-C
- Caltrate
- MegaFood
- NatureMade
- Innate Response Formula
- Osteo Bi-Flex
- Solgar
- Puritan’s Pride
- American Health
- Nature’s Bounty
- Ester-C
- Sundown Naturals
- Florajen
- Swanson Health Products
- Amway
- Metagenics
- Wobenzym
- Pure encapsulations
- Douglas Laboratories
- Garden of Life
- Genestra Brands
- NewChapter
- Renew Life
- NeoCell
- Schiff
Ownership of companies shifts all of the time, so it’s something we have to keep an eye on.
I only use supplement companies I know I can trust, which is why the ones listed above I can personally no longer recommend.
I’m sharing this list so you can make your own decisions, and I feel having awareness around who owns them is important in that process.
And considering all of this, that is why my biggest go-to’s continue being Systemic Formulas, CellCore BioSciences, and Standard Process.
